With New Years night coming up i've had my eye out for a cute party dress. But unfortunatly after christmas, like most, i'm pretty broke!..So heres a few beauties I have found that won't break the bank :)
1. H&M blue strapless dress (also in black) $39.95/€24.95
2. Topshop one shoulder embellished dress (also in white) €44/£40
V Magazine will dedicate their January 2010 issue to plus-size models(hate that term!).
The Chanel designer, Karl Lagerfeld, photographed the plus-sized models although in the past saying things such as: “These are fat mummies sitting with their bags of crisps in front of the television, saying that thin models are ugly”
The issue will include models such as Crystal Renn(below), Amy Lemons and Ashley Graham who will appear clothed and nude.
This may be a step forward for healthier sized models but I personally believe that it is just to generate publicity and thus increase readership.
Layering is an important trend in any season, but it’s particularly strong right now with the chilly weather well upon us. It’s the perfect way to make your outfit unique and it allows great versatility in dressing.
For me there are 3 key items that i use when layering;
-tights worn under shorts, skirts or dresses will keep you cosy and can totally transform an outfit. From opaque to patterned, tights are in. Delicate lace tights are a great way to add some edge to a black dress or skirt.
-summer tops can get more use in the winter by simply adding plenty of layers.Try one under a deep V-neck top or a slouchy vest over a cute blouse then top off with a blazer.
-scarves are a little obsession of mine of late, my favourites being big chunky knits in bright colours. Its a simple way of updating a classic mac coat while still looking sophisticated.
Dunnes clothing is very reasonably priced, good quality and i must say i was very impressed with their range of going out clothes when i popped in there at the weekend. I bought a black skirt with studding on the waistband (shown below) and a very cute floral bow back dress which was €15!
Party season is approaching fast ladies! It's time to whip off those cosy cotton PJs and sling on your fave little party frock. Since we can't all be buying a whole new outfit for every night out, a key dress that can be accessorised in different ways is essential! Here are a few beauts that i've spotted lately that would be perfect for the job.
All three of these divine dresses can give you several different looks with the help of a few accesories...
example 1. Wear with bright tights and contrasting shoes. play down jewellery with this look as you don't want to over do it!
example 2. Leather is huge this season so sling on a sexy leather jacket and a pair of studded ankle boots.
example 3. Keep it simple and put on a statement necklace or bangles and your fave pair of heels.
dresses: - BCBG black fitted tiered embellished dress €280
- Topshop silk one shoulder pleat dress €73
- Preen power bandage dress €853.98 [pricey, i know. but hey, its an investment piece ;)]
Blake Lively looks fierce on the cover of the November 2009 Issue of Nylon Magazine. In her Interview she gives a glimpse into her busy life as a young actress. She discusses friends, her new movie 'The Private Lives of Pippa Lee' and of course Gossip Girl (love it!).
For the photoshoot she poses alongside her co-star Leighton Meester in several gorgeous outfits of course looking stunning in all of them!
Oh Lord, what i would'nt do to get my hands on her wardrobe! hehe :)
Yes thats right a woman crush....well more her wardrobe than her really? Jessica Stam, 23, shown on the left at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards, November 16. She wore a Yigal Azrouel gown complemented by jewelry by Monique Pean and Jimmy Choo clutch, this look is all about understated glamour. To the right is a photo of Jessica at the New Moon premiere, the dress is from Garteth Pugh's Spring 2010 collection, I love the paneling detail of this dress and the lace up boots give the look an edgy twist. I have a feeling we'll be seeing alot more of this up and coming "it" girl...
OK i know this look isn't absolutely amazing, but to me Rachel Bilson gets it right everytime (...well 99.9% anyway?) She pulls of effortless chic perfectly with this oversized knit jumper, flattering skinny jeans, flat boots and a black shoulder chanel bag to add that touch of glamour. I think i shall take notes and use this look for inspiration for my everyday look next week.
Kate Moss has been working with Topshop since 2007 and this seems to be the most daring collection to date. Alot of texture and different fabrics are used such as suede, velvet, wool and fur which helps this collection stand out from recent ones. Trends such as jewelled shoulders, oriental prints and sequins can be seen in several of the pieces.
I'm thinking this cute little dress would be perfect for a night out on the tiles :)
Spotted this leather jacket on ASOS.com yesterday and fell in love! At around 55euros its not too bad and would be the perfect going out look themed with a cute dress or skinny jeans and heels ...sexy biker chic...me likey!
